There are direct trains to the Chambéry-Challes-les-Eaux train station from Paris, Grenoble, Lyon, Annecy, Valence and Geneva: https://www.sncf.com/fr/gares/chambery-challes-les-eaux/OCE87741009/departs-arrivees/gl/departs#

If you decide to fly, the closest airports to Chambéry are Lyon-Saint-Exupéry (LYS) and Genève-Cointrin (GVA). A Flixbus or BlaBlaCar bus will take you from Lyon airport to Chambéry in about an hour and from Geneva airport in an hour and a half.

Chambéry does have its own airport (CMF), but its travel destinations are limited to Birmingham, Bristol, East Midlands, Edinburgh, Exeter, Glasgow, London, Manchester and Southampton. If you come from any of those cities, check availabilities at https://www.chambery-airport.com/en/destinations/all-destinations.
